This long-life Borden eggnog does have a different, faintly suspicious taste until you've drunk a glass of it, then it tastes the same as any other eggnog, except of course Southern Comfort, the best, yet when I drink my local area milk brand of eggnog through Thanksgiving till Christmas Eve, the Southern Comfort tastes different and suspicious to me, until I've drunk a glass of it. Nutmeg works wonders in all eggnog. Eggnog is seasonal.

Particularly like that it's shelf stable, so I buy a whole bunch and use it year-long - in my coffee instead of creamer and for baking eggnog pound cake, eggnog custard pie. Good to have around in case of the zombie apocalypse. I think it's because the can keeps it colder in the fridge, because mild tastes better when kept in a cold metal container, too.
But it's still good. I would have given the eggnog 1 star but I do love it and I don't think this was a manufacture problem. The case arrived as expected. I opened a carton and it had pieces inside. I closed it and shook it thinking this would help, but no.
I had to strain it in order to drink it. I probably should have just sent it back but I searched high and low for it and was excited to find it on Amazon.
I will perhaps order it again from another seller and hope the product arrives in better shape. The only conclusion I came to is that the seller froze the cartons which was unnecessary because they do not need to be refrigerated until opened. When I purchased Bordens eggnog the picture showed that it came in cans. That is the way I used to get it from the stores around Christmas time. How ever when it arrived,to my surprise it was in a box.
Then when I had some, to my surprise, it sure did not taste anyway the same. It was good, but believe me I was truly disappointed! I have bought this before when it was in grocery stores a few years ago in large cans. I guess the product has been changed somehow, now it is good still for easy french toast, but it is an extremely thick liquid to drink even after shaking it. Before when I bought it off the shelf it was just slightly thicker than the Egg Nog bought in the refrigerated section of the grocery store.
I love eggnog this Borden egg nog taste great I wish you could get egg nog all year long. It is clog up had to put it in blender and still have drunk any will never buy it again. It is to thick in my opinion.
